Wanted by J. Kenner

Author: J. Kenner
Publisher: Bantam Dell
Date of publication: January 2014

He is everything I crave, all I desperately want—and he is everything I can’t have.

Evan Black embodies my every fantasy. He is brilliant, fierce, and devastatingly handsome. But he is also headstrong, dangerous, and burdened with secrets.

My family warned me to stay away, that I could never handle Evan’s dark dealings or scarred past. Maybe I should have listened. Maybe I should have run. But our desire is undeniable, and some temptations you just can’t fight.

And from the moment we touch—the passion between us consuming us both—I know that I will never be the same.

Wanted is the first in a new series by J. Kenner.  I loved her Stark trilogy and this new series is just as good.  Evan Black was briefly introduced in Take Me, the follow-up novella to the Stark series.  You guys know I am a sucker for friends to lovers stories.  Angelina has known Evan for years.  She has also wanted him for a long time.  Evan has stayed away from Angie because he feels he is a bad bet for her.  Their attraction is strong and very hot!  There are some great love scenes.

I loved these two together.  I think that they both were able to help each other figure out how to be true to themselves.  Angelina has spent years doing things that her dead sister would have done with her life. She feels guilty over the circumstances of her sister's death.  She also wants to constantly please her father.  The problem is that she has been denying her true calling in life.  Evan is able to help her work through this issue and make the right decision for her life. Evan is the ultimate bad boy.  He has done what he had to do to make sure his mother and sister can survive.  Now, he wants to clean up his act for Angelina.

The story has a little bit of mystery surrounding an ancient art book.  I liked how that part of the story played out.  The thing I also liked about this book is that it has a HEA in the end. Unlike her last trilogy, each of the books in this set will feature with a different couple. The next two books in the trilogy will deal with Evan's friends Cole and Tyler.   I can't wait for Heated, which comes out in May!
