Blog Tour: If We Were A Movie by Kelly Oram

Music meets Movies in this sweet college romance from the bestselling author of Cinder & Ella. NYU freshman Nate Anderson is a triplet who is desperate to escape his wild and crazy brothers. After they screw things up for him one too many times, Nate flees his housing situation and takes the first available room for rent as far from his brothers as he can get. Enter his new roommate Jordan--a quirky LA girl who believes that everything in life has already been done in the movies. In this heartfelt tale of love, friendship and family, Nate learns how to deal with his new adult life using Hollywood films as a guide.

If We Were a Movie is the third book in the "Power of the Matchmaker" series.  As with the first two books, this one can be read as a stand alone.  In this book, Pearl has her work cut out for her when she finally meets Nate.  He is perfect for Jordan, but he has a lot of obstacles in his path to happiness.

This one had a different feel to it than the first two.  It had a "younger" feel but that was probably because the main characters are in college.  I adored Nate and Jordan.  I loved that their love grew out of friendship.  I was really rooting for Nate to find a way to be a part of the "triple threat" without losing who he was. I'm sure being one of a set of triplets makes it hard to find your own way.  Often, I wanted to smack his brother's in the back of the head and tell them to lay off.  But, the love the triplets had for each other definitely came across as deep and real.

I will admit that I was a bit wary of reading this because Nate has a girlfriend when he first meets Jordan,  But the author did a good job of navigating that situation.  Let's just say, I was so glad when Sophie was kicked to the curb!

One of the fun things about this book is all of the references to movies and songs.  I loved how the author incorporated them into the story.  She even included a lot of my favorites.  I also loved how the author didn't assume that the reader knew the song or movie and was able to work a little synopsis into each reference.  It saved me having to look things up on the side.

I highly recommend this sweet romance as well as the series.  I look forward to seeing what Pearl gets up to next!

TEASER: “So this is what a Pearl-approved guy looks like.” She shook her head once and cracked a smile. “She’s got good taste, I’ll give her that. You’re an odd mix of sexy and adorable. Don’t see that often.”
I was a little taken aback by the compliment, if that’s even what it was. She may have just been stating what she considered to be fact. She laughed at my surprise and held out her hand to me. “Nice to meet you. I’m Jordan Kramer.”
I’d been afraid of that. “You’re a girl.”
Jordan laughed. “That’s what it says on my birth certificate, but I’m really glad you were able to figure it out without needing to read it.”
Nope. I definitely didn’t need that.
