Sixteen-year-old Devon Mackintosh has always felt like an outsider at Keaton, the prestigious California boarding school perched above the Pacific. As long as she’s not fitting in, Devon figures she might as well pad her application to Stanford’s psych program. So junior year, she decides to become a peer counselor, a de facto therapist for students in crisis. At first, it seems like it will be an easy fly-on-the-wall gig, but her expectations are turned upside down when Jason Hutchins (a.k.a. “Hutch”), one of the Keaton’s most popular students, commits suicide.

Devon is a scholarship student to a really super fancy boarding school.  On like the first day, she has an amazing night with a guy named Hutch and she falls all in love with him, but nothing ever happens after that night.  Fast forward several years later, Devon becomes a peer counselor and Hutch commits suicide.  Because of her love for Hutch, she know he didn't commit suicide and uses her peer counselor position to snoop around and get answers.

This book was fairly decent, but I had some issues with the peer counselor snooping around.  Devon keep pointing out the fact that she was overstepping her bounds, but kept doing it anyway.  She wanted to be a therapist, but wasn't starting out as a very good one.  Anyway, it was an interesting story and I was intrigued throughout the whole thing.  However, this is the first book in a series/two-parter and I don't know what is left of the story after this book.  I felt like it wrapped up pretty well.
