Celia is in desperate need of a change--a change of scenery, a change of pace, and a complete redo of all relationships. Not knowing what else to do, she opens a map, closes her eyes, and lets fate decide her future. Then she packs her meager belongings and buys a one-way ticket to a little town on the fringes of Oregon's Deschutes National Forest called Sisters. She's wanted a family for years. Will she find one in Sisters? What Celia doesn't plan to find is a strange Chinese woman whose meddling ways keep throwing her in the path of a handsome, but reserved, forest ranger. But no matter how kind or dependable Silas seems to be, there are some things in Celia's past that neither of them can escape, and this time, the damage might be too much to mend.

I'm not sure I have read a sweeter story than this one in a long time.
Broken Things to Mend was such a refreshing read and a much needed escape for a little while.  This is the first book in a series about mysterious matchmaker who seems to always know when two people just need to meet.  The rest is up to them, but somehow loves always finds a way.

Celia is young, in trouble and has no family.  When she is attacked one night in her room, she flees for parts unknown.  A teardrop leads her to the town of Sisters.  There she hopes to find a better future for herself.  She meets the matchmaker who helps her on her quest.  For Silas, his life is quiet and he is seemingly content to be alone.  His speech impediment makes him more of an introvert. Watching these two meet was like watching a shy lonely spark take hold and  gradually ignite into a bonfire.  I loved them together and loved watching their relationship grow from friendship to love.  I don't want to give too much away as there are a couple of surprises, but I will say you will find yourself rooting for these two to find their HEA with each other.

This is a nice clean read for those who just like sweet romances. As I said earlier, this is part of a series, but each book is written by a different author and can be read as a stand alone book.  I will be reviewing the next book, by Rachael Anderson next month, so stay tuned for that one!
