Originally a contest-winning story on reddit.com’s horror community NoSleep , Stolen Tongues has received widespread acclaim and has been optioned for film.
Stolen Tongues is a good old-fashioned horror story that involves a couple who set of for a romantic getaway and end up getting something they never bargained for. Felix and Faye are ready for a sweet getaway, but every night, they begin to hear voices outside. A storm threatens to make matters worse and there is a dark figure that seems to be haunting the house.
I really enjoyed this one. It's been a while that I have read a good horror story. The atmosphere was so creepy and anxiety inducing. I could feel my heart racing as Felix investigated the sounds and voices he was hearing. There are also some great gruesome scenes that jack up the creep factor. I will definitely not be renting a cabin in the woods any time soon. I loved the ending. This is really a book that you are better off not knowing much and just going in blind. I highly recommend it. I'll have to seek out other stories by this author.
