More Recent DNFs

An Inquiry into Love and Death:  This author has always been a hit or miss for me.  Unfortunately this first book by her was a miss.  I was bored. I wanted to be creeped out by a ghost story, but it never really happened. I also thought the detective was a creep.  He just shows up at the house and declares he is staying with an unmarried, unchaperoned young woman? Definitely a creep.  The insta-love on her part also killed it for me.

Ghost Camera:  I'm not sure I can call this a full DNF.  I did make it through the main story, Ghost Camera and about 3 of the other short stories included in the audiobook.  But I ended up losing interest in the rest of the stories. They weren't very interesting.  Maybe I'll go back some day and finish them.  But for now, I'll move on.

How to Make Friends with the Dark:
I only made it about 25% into this book.  I found it really depressing and worse I found it profoundly boring.  I'm not sure that a book that is supposed to be about dealing with grief should be boring. But it was.

The Briar Club:  I was the only one in the book club who DNF'd this one.  I peaced out when the son of the boarding house was encouraged to lie to his mother about the parties that went on when his mother wasn't home.  Couldn't get behind that one... it gave me the ick. He was a minor.   I don't care what kind of mother she was, it was not someone else's place to tell him what to do especially because he was a minor.
