My thoughts:
Driving Whiskey Wild is the third book in The Whiskey Family series. I read the first book, Tru Blue and really enjoyed it. I somehow skipped the second book, Truly Madly Whiskey so I'll have to remedy that. At any rate, this held up well as a stand alone. I didn't feel lost having missed the second book. Characters from both books do show up here and it was nice to catch up with them. This is Brandon (Bullet) and Finlay's story.
The best part about this book was Bullet. I loved his character. It's always fun to read about a big alpha male with a heart of gold who also has a soft spot for kids and his dog. He has made it onto my book boyfriend list. Finlay, however, I had a harder time warming up to her. I didn't doubt she had a big heart and cared deeply for Bullet. However, it really grated on me every time she questioned his motorcycle club and its rules. That bothered me. If you are going to be involved with someone from a club like that, then you have to take it all on. They won't change just because you think they are archaic. I also didn't get how she grew up in the town and didn't know much about the club. They seemed to be a fairly prominent part of the town, so I was puzzled by her complete lack of knowledge of the good they do and how it all works.
Anyway, this did end up being a sweet romance that I ultimately enjoyed. I do look forward to reading Bones's and Dixie's stories in the future.
