Callie Reed doesn’t need a man to protect her. An expert sharpshooter and renegade hacker, this Texas-born spitfire’s got the skills and the courage to stand up to any danger―no matter how deadly. But when she becomes the target of a shadowy organization known as the Saints, Callie is forced to team up with the one man she can’t outshoot: the gorgeous, and infuriating, Lone Star legend named Wyatt Loughman…
A Delta Force Colonel with a rock-hard body and stone-cold heart, Wyatt has been teasing and tormenting Callie since they were playmates on his family’s ranch. Of course, he’s wildly attracted to the fiery, strong-willed Callie. But he’s always hidden his feelings behind a wall of Texas tough and military cool, even as he’s burning up with desire. Can Wyatt save Callie’s life―without putting her love in the line of fire?
The Legend is the third book in the Sons of Texas series and focuses mainly on Callie and Wyatt. It picks up right around the end of the events o f book two. Again, I don't recommend this one as a stand alone. It really assumes you know the events of books 1 and 2. Out of the three from this series, this one is my favorite so far.
I love Callie and Wyatt. I felt like i bought into their back history more and it made sense that they would finally get together given that history. Of course their initial parting was, once again, a result of not talking about things. I enjoyed watching Wyatt finally realize that he did want his family in his life and he could find forgiveness for his father. I also really liked how this book wrapped up a lot of the story arc from the previous two books. While not everything is resolved, we learn a bit more about The Saints and why they are after this family. The final scene in the book was action packed and would look really cool in a movie.
There is a fourth book coming out later this month. The Defender features Lev. I look forward to reading it.
