He's No Prince Charming is a classic take on the Beauty and the Beast tale. Marcus is a tortured soul who suffered unspeakable abuse as a child at the hands of his father. The after affects follow him into adulthood. Danielle is an heiress who believes in love and happy ever after as her parents had in their marriage. Through their journey to find a way to save Marcus's sister from a loveless marriage, they find love themselves.
For the most part, I liked the story. I loved watching Marcus and Danni fall in love. Any time a heroine can see through the rough and scarred exterior to the true heart of the hero you have a great love story. I thought that the author handled the subject of his panic attacks as a result from PTSD very realistically. I also loved their HEA ending.
What I struggled with was the kidnapping scenario. I was a little troubled with the drugging and kidnapping of a young girl in order to help Marcus's sister. I found no humor in the situation at all especially when the young woman in question is then kidnapped again by another group of men. It just kind of didn't sit right with me. So, with the exception of that one thing, I did like Danni and Marcus's adventure. His sister Caroline has her own story coming up next. I do look forward to reading it.
