Release Boost: Brewhouse Book Club Series, Books 1 & 2 by Tina Gallagher & Cissy Mecca

Jess Harper finally has the fresh start she was looking for until she needs a fake date to survive her ex’s wedding weekend. Caleb Ward is the reliable, closed-off man who agrees to help, expecting nothing more than a favor. But when their pretend relationship starts to feel real, they’ll have to decide if they’re brave enough to risk everything for something neither of them believed they deserved. Readers who enjoy steamy fake dating romances will devour Fake It Until It’s Real by Tina Gallagher & Cissy Mecca, a small-town, forced proximity romance.

She's afraid she's too much. He's convinced he'll never be enough.

Maplemoor is Jess Harper's fresh start. A quiet place to rebuild after a future that never happened. Now she has a book club that feels like family, a coffee shop that knows her order, and a life that finally feels steady again.

What she doesn't have is a date to her best friend's wedding—the one where her ex and his brand-new fiancĂ©e will also be there.

Enter Caleb Ward. Dependable. Steady. The kind of man who shows up before you even have to ask—for everyone except himself. He's got a life in Maplemoor that works for him, but when it comes to love, he keeps his walls firmly in place—and exactly where he wants them.

Agreeing to be Jess's date to the wedding is just a favor. Nothing more.

Until it isn't.

One weekend together. One very convincing performance.

Turns out the line between pretending and real is thinner than either of them thought. The hard part is knowing which side they're on.

Operations Manager Carli Porter runs The Lochwell as if it were her own and is fiercely protective of the community she’s built within its walls. But when the building's owner sends in his best friend to evaluate its future, Caril finds herself fighting to keep everything she loves from slipping away. Left with no other option, she’s forced to team up with Alexander Grassi, the very man who could decide the building's fate. Readers who enjoy steamy, he-falls-first romances will devour Fight It Until We Can’t by Cissy Mecca & Tina Gallagher, a small-town, rivals-to-lovers romance.

He's a property analyst hired to find the cracks.

She's the operations manager who will make sure he doesn't.

Carli Porter runs The Lochwell like it's hers. The coffee shop is her living room. Its book club members are her family. The residents are her friends. The pub is her Friday night. The only problem? The building belongs to someone else, and that someone just sent his best friend to decide its fate.

Alexander Grassi is smart and annoyingly hard to hate. He also has the kind of forearms that make it very difficult to stay mad at him. (She's tried. It hasn't worked.) He's supposed to write a report, hand it over to his friend and leave. He wasn't supposed to start showing up to trivia night. Or turning her coffee cup so the handle faces her. Or looking at her like she's the best thing in a building full of things worth saving.

She says his report could ruin her life.

He says she's not wrong.

She says that's makes him the last person she should want around.

He says he's staying anyway.

Because some legacies (and people) are worth fighting for.

Release Blitz: Excerpt from Burning Vengeance by Tricia T. LaRochelle

Natalie Dugan thought starting a cleaning business would bring freedom, not danger. Between caring for her sick mother and juggling new clients, she has no time for romance—until she meets Aaron Marino, a scarred ex-firefighter who makes her question everything. When a series of suspicious fires spreads through their Virginia town, suspicion falls on every man around her, leaving Natalie to unravel a deadly mystery before vengeance consumes them all. Readers who enjoy high-stakes and forced proximity romances will devour Burning Vengeance by Tricia T. LaRochelle, a small-town, fireman romantic suspense.

When Natalie Dugan trades spreadsheets for scrub brushes, she hopes her new cleaning business will give her independence—and the chance to care for her ailing mother. Love isn’t on her agenda, but everything changes when she meets Aaron Marino, a reclusive ex-firefighter scarred by the blaze that nearly claimed his life.
As a string of suspicious fires threatens their quaint Virginia town, every man in Natalie’s orbit becomes a suspect: her hard-working new boyfriend, her mother’s unfairly maligned partner, her unsettling neighbor, and even Aaron himself. But the closer Natalie gets to Aaron, the harder it is to ignore the spark that refuses to extinguish.
When the truth behind the fires finally ignites, Natalie will have to confront betrayal, vengeance, and danger that hits far too close to home. Survival—and love—depend on whether she can brave the flames of the past … before they consume her.

“Okay, time to go to work.”
A headline flashed on the screen of my phone as I was exiting my vehicle.
Authorities investigating a series of fires in the local area, one linked to a commercial public warehouse in eastern Charlottesville. Two men in the hospital due to smoke inhalation. No fatalities. Authorities suspect arson.
“A series. Arson?” I mumbled to myself. I thought about Dr. Clark’s brother-in-law. “What kind of idiot would start a fire on purpose? You have to be absolutely nuts to do something like that.”
My jaw clenched thinking about all the casualties, not to mention the men and women who had risked their lives to stop the insanity. It never ceased to amaze me how destructive certain people could be.
I thought about that fire that broke out at my mother’s old neighbor’s gift shop last week. Bea and Nigel were nearing retirement and had just put the place up for sale. They lost all their inventory in that blaze. At least the fire hadn’t injured anyone. Bea had told my mom that she swore she had seen a dark, hooded figure in the woods nearby on the night of the fire. Was the person watching the place? Bea and Nigel were careful people. They didn’t smoke or take unnecessary risks. A late-night call had informed them that their place was now a pile of rubble . . . charred rubble. Baffled didn’t begin to describe it. I hoped they had insurance.
I strolled up the walkway covered in light-and-dark gray pavers toward a porch supported by square pillars and anchored by natural stone accents. The shining sun gleamed against the beveled sidelights as I rang the doorbell and waited. It wasn’t long before footfalls approached, the door swinging open to reveal a tall man donning strawberry-blond hair with a slight curl to it. A trimmed beard of the same shade revealed a few wisps of white that implied Aaron was probably older than I was, but not by much, his face relatively free of wrinkles.
My pulse ramped. Every cell in my body went berserk.
The thin red-and-black flannel shirt Aaron wore did little to hide the robust shoulders of this guy or his pectorals. And I had thought Justin was in shape. His faded jeans hung casually from his hips and toned waistline. White socks covered his feet. His amber eyes emphasized warm honey with a slight slant in a Ryan Gosling sort of way, his lips full, and his overall facial structure rather scrumptious. If this guy wanted to abduct me, I’d have a difficult time putting up a fight. Not really, but man. How many men and women had he rescued in a fire who were swooning over him still?
Zing. I felt it. As though an electrical shock had zapped me.
Suddenly, I wished I had put on makeup. Damn. My hair was back up in a neat ponytail, but my outfit was about as unflattering as it got: bright-orange sneakers and scrubs in pale yellow with a doggy print splattered all over them.

Release Blitz: Excerpt from One Night in Paris by N.D. Jackson

When a not-quite-jilted bride turns her would-be honeymoon into a solo adventure, the last thing she expects is to fall for Paris or the broodingly handsome artist who shows her its secrets. As midnight kisses blur into something deeper, she must choose between the life she left behind and the future she never saw coming. One Night in Paris by N.D. Jackson is a heart-mending, spicy travel romance where art, passion, and second chances collide in the world’s most romantic city.

It started as one night in Paris.
It ended with forever on the line.
Not quite a jilted bride,
I still find myself on a first-class flight to Paris—solo.
What was supposed to be a honeymoon has become my Great Parisian Adventure: afrt, food, and falling in love with the city.
Then I met Lucien.
Tall. Dark. French. Irresistibly artsy.
He taught me how to see the city through his eyes.
Its sounds, its colors, its passion.
And somehow, somewhere between croissants, art galleries, and midnight kisses,
Paris stopped being just a place… and started to feel like him.
But he’s a world away from my real life.
And I came here to move on, not fall in love.
Still, you can’t have a Great Parisian Adventure without a touch of romance.
Even if it can't last.
One Night in Paris is a jilted bride, friends to lovers, travel romance with a happy ending, steamy open-door scenes and a whole lotta Paris. Features a scorching hot Parisian with sensitive eyes, a gentle soul and hot touch.

For the first time in my life, words failed me so I did the only thing that seemed appropriate in the moment, I pressed my lips to hers and let the moment carry me.
A soft whimper escaped Emerald’s lips when our mouths touched at the exact same time her hands landed on my chest, the warmth of her touch penetrated every layer of my skin.
It was an odd sensation, kissing a woman who wasn’t Eve. Who didn’t taste the way Eve did. Emerald’s curls were a stark contrast to her silky straight locks. Everything about the kiss was surreal because I never thought I would kiss another pair of lips but here I was, savoring a pair that were thicker and softer than I was accustomed to. She tasted of cherries instead of peach lip balm.
Emerald’s lips weren’t submissive, she dove right into the kiss as if she wanted it the way I wanted it. Her hands curled into the fabric of the thin t-shirt I slept in, fisting it as if she wanted to make sure I didn’t break the kiss.
As if I could.
Not even ten thousand hours could have dragged our lips apart. Her kiss was more intoxicating than the best French wine, her touch was hotter than the hottest Parisian sun. Every second that our lips were fused together was another second I grew addicted to her touch and her taste. Emerald kissed the way she seemed to do everything, with an immense passion that was impossible to ignore. Her lips moved against mine with a drugging intensity that made my head spin. Her tongue danced with mine so effortlessly as if we’d been kissing for years, diving deep as if she was hungry for every inch of me.
The soft moans she made were enough to unravel the steely resolve that had settled deep in my bones the moment the doctor’s told me my wife, my son, my entire world was gone. The hesitation was gone, vanishing on the breeze that tore through the apartment, replaced by pent up passion that shocked me with its ferocity.
The way I wanted her didn’t just shock me, it scared me. Who was this woman to make me want her this way? Why did she affect me this way when no other woman had? I had been the picture of the faithful, grieving husband since the day I lost her and now it was all gone. Obliterated in one, heartfelt act.
An eternity passed before one of us—Emerald—pulled back, gasping and wide-eyed. Her lips were pink and swollen as they curved up into a slow smile. “That was…wow. One hell of a kiss.”
Her words relaxed me and pulled me out of my head a way nothing else could have in that moment. “It was pretty wow wasn’t it?”
She nodded, a short shock of laughter exploded from her lips. “Yeah,” she sighed. “It was.” Her gaze went from my eyes back to my lips, and then her breath hitched as if she was fighting the urge to kiss me again.

Rain tapped softly against the windows of Kitchi Falls Books, the steady rhythm syncing with the thrum of my pulse as I turned another page. Was there anything better than the smell of old paper on a rainy afternoon? Maybe one thing: reading a romance that made you feel something again. Something real. Something messy.
“Let me guess,” Nolan said as he set a mug beside me, steam curling upward like a beckoning hand. “You skipped lunch. Again.”
I looked up at him—my best friend, my constant, the boy who used to trade PB&J halves with me in third grade and had somehow turned into a man with forearms I pretended not to notice.
“It’s barely noon,” I protested.
“It’s two-thirty,” he countered, one brow raised.
Okay, so time slipped when I read. Sue me.
“I’m just saying,” he continued, leaning on the counter beside me, “it wouldn’t kill you to occasionally consume food that isn’t flavored with printer ink.”
I smiled, unable to help it. Nolan’s teasing never felt like criticism. It felt like care. Like home.
He nudged the book in my hands. “Good?”
“Great,” I said. “The kind of read that makes the world feel bigger.”
That earned me a quiet look—one of those soft, unreadable ones Nolan gave when he wanted to say more but didn’t.
Before I could ask what was behind it, the bell over the door chimed.
A man stepped inside, rain clinging to his shoulders like it worshiped him. Tall. Dark hair. Sharp jaw. Eyes so blue they looked unreal under the shop lights. He shouldn’t have fit in Kitchi Falls—our little lake town was cozy sweaters and maple donuts, not… whatever he was.
He scanned the shelves like he was searching for something he’d lost a lifetime ago.
“Need help finding anything?” Nolan asked, but the stranger’s gaze was fixed on me.
On my book.
“The Healer’s Curse,” he said, voice low, a strange familiarity threading through it. “You enjoy stories like that?”
I blinked. “Stories like what?”
“Ones where fate pulls two people together long before they understand why.”
A shiver traced my neck.
Nolan stepped closer—not protective exactly, but present, his body blocking half the stranger’s view. “Can we help you with something?”
“Yes,” the man said simply. “Her.”
“Me?” I echoed.
The stranger nodded once. “Your name is Lena, yes?”
My breath stalled. I didn’t know him. Had never seen him in town. Yet he said my name like he’d said it before. Like he’d whispered it into the dark.
“Do I… know you?” I asked.
“Not yet,” he said. “But you will.”
Okay. Cryptic much?
Nolan angled himself between us. “Maybe you should try that line somewhere else.”
The stranger didn’t even flinch. “I’m not here to cause trouble. I came to return something.”
He reached into his coat and pulled out a small, leather-bound book. Old. Worn. The kind of artifact historians drooled over.
I hesitated but took it. The cover was embossed with a symbol I recognized instantly—a crescent moon surrounded by three intertwined circles. I’d seen it in the medieval romance series I’d been reading. In the margins of my dad’s genealogy notes. Even in last night’s dream—
My heartbeat tripped.
“How did you get this?” I whispered.
His gaze softened. “That’s a much longer story than you’re ready for.”
And just like that, the lights flickered overhead. Once. Twice. Like the whole world held its breath.
“Lena?” Nolan’s voice pulled me back.
I forced a smile. “It’s fine. Really.”
But it wasn’t. Something inside me shifted the moment the book touched my hands, as if a door I hadn’t known existed had swung open.
The stranger gave a barely-there bow. “We will see each other again.”
Then he stepped back into the rain, leaving the scent of storm air and something ancient behind.
Nolan shut the door a little too hard. “What the hell was that?”
“I don’t know,” I said honestly, but the truth pulsed beneath my skin like a second heartbeat.
I wasn’t sure whether I felt terrified.
Or awakened.

“How about a shot?Ë®
He raises a brow and puts his hands on his hips. “How bad we talking?Ë®
“You know the Christmas Gala youĘĽre sponsoring and your in-house event rep is handling?Ë® He nods. “The Starlight Bay Town Board picked a teacher to assist. And IĘĽm that teacher.Ë®
He whistles but has a shit-eating grin. “So, itĘĽs bad.Ë® He grabs four shot glasses and lines them up, then grabs the bottle of Jameson, filling all four. He pushes two forward, then grabs one. We tap glasses and down it, the burn making me feel slightly better.
“Does she know?Ë®
“Oh, she knows.Ë® I slam the second shot. “I just came from seeing her at the school auditorium.Ë®
“HowĘĽd that go?Ë®
I shake my head. “SheĘĽs still Sadie. Color-coded, clipboard-carrying, and convinced IĘĽm here to sabotage her centerpiece arrangements.Ë®
“Seems to be a specialty of yours.Ë®
“Causing chaos is my love language.Ë®
Matt laughs and pours one more shot. “You mean your ‘desperately trying not to be in loveĘĽ
language?Ë®
“Excuse me. IĘĽll have you know I am very successfully not in love with her.Ë®
“You're so full of shit.Ë®
I shrug, then do the third shot, the fire sitting low in my stomach. “I canĘĽt help it if I remember
everything she says, and still think about how good she looks when sheĘĽs mad.Ë® I smile. “I pushed her buttons on purpose today to see what would happen.Ë®
He scoffs. “Still trying to get a blow job after a fight, huh?Ë®
I snicker. “I should have never told you that.Ë® I spin the empty shot glass, and my mind reverts to every fight I picked on purpose just so she would show me some passion.
“Mhmm. Totally not in love. You sound like a movie side character who dies of unresolved tension.Ë®
I roll my eyes. “YouĘĽre no help.Ë®
“Listen, IĘĽm the guy who watched his high-school sweetheart waltz back into his winery with her fiancĂ© to plan their wedding and still managed to marry her, so if anyone gets being the side character at first, I do.Ë®
“Yeah, well, SadieĘĽs not exactly giving me the green light. In fact, her words were ‘weĘĽre not
anything.ĘĽ So, pretty sure sheĘĽs over me.Ë®
“Maybe. Or maybe sheĘĽs scared youĘĽre not joking this time.Ë®
I pause, letting out a breath. “I wasnĘĽt joking then.Ë®
“I know you werenĘĽt, but she didn't, and that was the problem. YouĘĽre not a kid, Danny. You donĘĽt have to pull her ponytail to get her attention.Ë®
“I did if I wanted a blow job.Ë® I laugh, then sober. “SheĘĽs got this whole world mapped out—timelines, goals, perfect damn centerpieces. And IĘĽm just… me.Ë®

“Yeah, youĘĽre you. The guy whoĘĽs funny, loyal, great with kids, and probably the only person on earth who could balance her out when she finally lets go.Ë®
“You really think that?Ë®
“Only because my fiancĂ© tells me I have to be nice to you.Ë® I flip him off, and he laughs. “But Sadie thinks that, too. She just doesnĘĽt want to admit it, even if you're holding a lighter to her perfectly timed schedule.Ë®
I huff a laugh and stand. “Thanks for the drink. And for the talk. I'll catch ya tomorrow.Ë®
I walk out, remembering how it felt to have her hand pushed against my chest, kissing me like she didnĘĽt want to want me but couldn't resist me either.
That was the night I realized I might actually love Sadie Johnson.
And today showed me I never stopped. Now, I just have to figure out how to get her to see what IĘĽve always known. We werenĘĽt perfect on paper, and we definitely didnĘĽt make sense together, but when it was just me and her with no schedule between us, we were something worth fighting for.

One apartment. One fake boyfriend. One agreement waiting to be broken.

Makayla:
I’m tired of my dad playing matchmaker.
As a music teacher juggling life with sickle cell disease, I don’t have time—or energy—for forced dinner dates with “eligible men.”
So, I come up with a plan: find a fake boyfriend, let him move in, and make it believable.
Daniel was never supposed to say yes.
He’s a grumpy, emotionally walled-off lawyer who hates chaos and clings to solitude.
But now he’s in my apartment—tall, brooding, infuriatingly neat—and fitting into my world way too easily.
I don’t believe in love. Not when life has taught me it rarely sticks around.
But something about him feels dangerously real.

Daniel:
Something about her captured my attention the moment I met her.
I knew I was in trouble.
Controlled and always alone—that’s who I’ve been.
But I said yes before I could stop myself.
Because moving into her tea-scented, music-filled home was the only way I could be close to her.
She’s sunshine and sharp edges. She hums while stirring honey into her cup and smiles through pain like it’s nothing.
This was supposed to be pretend.
But with every stolen glance and late-night conversation, the line between real and fake keeps slipping.
She doesn’t believe in love.
I never thought it was possible.
But living with her is rewriting everything I thought I knew—
And walking away might not be an option.

I appreciate everything you did with Teni, but we have come to the end of our road, and we must say goodbye. You need not worry. IĘĽll be leaving Chicago soon, so our paths will never cross again.Ë® I solemnly state. His face creased into a deep frown, and I noticed the worry lines etched on his brow.
“Anu, please forgive me; give me another chanceË® His pleading words fell on deaf ears as I scoffed at him. Averting eye contact, I recoiled from his touch and noticed the disappointment on his face, but right now I choose me first. A gentle touch of his is all it takes to make me agree to all his terms, even when I know I should run to the hills.
“What we had was all or nothingË® I pause. “We had all beforeË® I catch my breath for a moment “Now there is nothing. ThereĘĽs no halfway or in between.Ë® I pause from my vehement words and emotions “I donĘĽt hate you, we had a good time, and IĘĽve mentally accepted my dadĘĽs offer, it all worked out for the bestË® I say in a calm voice, and a shrug, maintaining my defiance stance with a straight face even as I shatter inside. He frowns at me.
“You canĘĽt do that,Ë® he shouts in my face
“Pretty sure I can,Ë® I challenge in a dulcet tone, a stark contrast to his shouts "Last I checked, I have every right to make a decision for myself.Ë®
“You canĘĽt because you love me, and I love youË® his voice heated
“Sometimes, love isnĘĽt enough,Ë® I answer succinctly
“It is for us Anu.Ë® He tries to touch me, and I shriek away from him. Exasperation is clear on him.
“What can I do, Anu to earn your forgiveness? Please tell me. IĘĽll do anything. Tell me what to doË® he asks, and I hear the plea in his voice, yet it all upsets me rather than appease me.
“If you want my goddamn forgiveness, you will be on your fucking knees, and since we both know you are too proud for that, you can stop asking me for another chance, We. Are. OverË® I vehemently state and turn to leave. He forcefully grabs me, and I watch him slide to his knees.
Daniel on his knees, has me in freeze mode.
“I want your forgiveness and another chanceË® his voice is gentle. IĘĽm frozen in place with widen eyes probably like a crazy meme, I was certain Daniel would never get on his knees but here he is before me.

The roar hits me like a wave as I step onto the field.
ItĘĽs not just noise; these stands are alive. Even with the shield on my helmet, I blink against the stadium lights. The spotlights are shining down on the most capable players the league has to offer. Chants bounce off the stands, rolling like thunder. My green and black jersey fits like a glove. I was made for this.

This is Sunday Night Football.

The huddle breaks, and I do my best to ignore the scoreboard. I already know what time it is. The game is tied with a minute and fourteen left on the clock, ball on the forty-two. Coach Gage gave me the green light. I check the defense and see that a safety and a cornerback are locked in on my every move. They know the ball is coming to me.

Let them try to take it.

I line up wide left, one toe digging into the turf. The cornerback across from me is eyeing me like I'm about to be dinner, but I just give him a slight chuckle. IĘĽm too fast for him, and he knows it. With six million watching from home and sixty thousand right here in the stands, the crowd's energy gives me the extra boost I need. They chant my name, and it hums in my chest louder than my own heartbeat.

Here comes the snap. I rock forward, weight even, and fingers twitching. This is the moment every rookie dreams of. This is the moment theyĘĽll either praise you for or castrate you. The one run where they say, “yeah, he's ready to playË® or “nope, too green. Take a seat on the bench.Ë®

I know IĘĽm better than anything they say.

The ball is snapped, and I explode off the line. The corner tries to cut me off, but I slip by, shoulder down, and accelerate into the open field. The safety guarding me overshoots his shot, and I cut inside, circling him before taking off toward the sideline.

It's my favorite route to run, and now IĘĽm wide open.

Jameson Winters, my QB, sees it and already expects me there as he lets the ball fly. ItĘĽs a tight spiral aiming right for me, and IĘĽm ready.

The clock ticks, and I push hard, one, two, three, four steps. I reach out, and the ball hits my hands like a moth to a flame. I cradle it to me, twist away from a defender, and run out of bounds.

First down!

The stadium erupts. I mean, it literally explodes. IĘĽve been to games, sat in the stands, and watched as my favorite team was inches away from scoring. ThereĘĽs no better feeling, itĘĽs as if I was already playing for them. I laugh to myself, remembering that analyst who said I wasnĘĽt ready, the one who said I still needed a year.

Fuck your year.

My teammates swarm me, slapping me on my helmet before quickly pulling me back to the huddle.

Line up. Do it again.

On the outside, IĘĽm calm. I stand amongst my team listening to Jameson call the play. But inside? Fucking fireworks. My blood runs through me like lava, my heart pumping like I've been electrocuted. IĘĽm half-fucking-hard standing here because I know what's coming.

They throw it to me because I wonĘĽt drop it, because I make the plays the vets hesitate on. IĘĽm too new and too stupid to feel any other way but to sacrifice it all.

America loves an underdog, but they worship the one who can prove them wrong. And IĘĽll do it every fucking time.

BallĘĽs on the 17, and the clock is ticking. Jameson steps up and meets my eyes.

“Coach called a Ghostfade. You got this?Ë®

My lips twitch. “You know I do.Ë®

This play is designed for me as IĘĽm the only one who can outrun a defender every single time. Like a ghost fades into thin air, I fade into the end zone, outrunning everyone around me.
I line up wide and see the cornerĘĽs already pressing in, but he wonĘĽt ever catch me. The snap hits, and I fake inside, sell the slant hard, then cut. IĘĽm running outside, straight and clean. He stumbles; itĘĽs just a step, but thatĘĽs all I need to take off. The end zone opens up like a door.

My thoughts:

Fire is the first book in the Creed Legacy series.  I believe it is an off shoot of another one of this author's series.  But it worked well as a stand alone book.  This one is  Zara and Hendrix's story.  I really enjoyed this romance.  I thought the couple was adorable.  I loved their history as well ad their chemistry together.  It just made this romance that much sweeter.  Both of them had great families that I hope we see more of in the later books.  I also really loved how Hendrix's condition was handled and his reaction to it. It was just raw and real.  How do you handle a complete pivot in your life when all you have ever wanted was to make music?  I highly recommend this one.  I read it in one sitting and I know you will not be able to put it down as well.

Release Blitz: This Feeling by Kelly Elliott

Is there anything worse than getting dumped by your boyfriend in a very public, very humiliating way? How about agreeing to fake-date the jerk to help get his matchmaking mother off his back and make his new love interest jealous?

My friends and family don't think so, but I'm getting Giants season tickets out of the deal. I can do anything for a short couple of months, right? However, when my ex's sexier older brother, Delcan, moves back home, I realize I'm not that confident after all.
For five years, I've avoided Moose Village, New York, as much as possible for one reason: the girl I've crushed on since high school was already spoken for--by my brother. Now discharged from the military, I'm coming home, tentatively heartened by the fact that they're no longer a couple. Except...it seems they are. But something's different this time. Harper doesn't seem as smitten as she was the first time around.

Meanwhile, the chemistry sizzling between us is what I've dreamed of for years. Even if I'm able to get to the bottom of the weird behavior between my brother and Harper, I've gone from one dangerous career to another. I've already got my anxious mother badgering me to quit. Will my career choice be too much for Harper, too?

I can only hope this feeling between the two of us is enough.
