Release Boost: Review of Fire by J.L. Berg

Author: J.L. Berg
Publisher: Love N. Books Press
Publication Date:

A scorching rock star romance packed with forced proximity, forbidden attraction, and way too many hotel nights on the road.

Zara Valentine's life is in crisis--recently divorced, living in her sister's spare room, and barely holding it together. The last person she expects to run into? Hendrix Creed--the tattooed, emotionally unavailable musician she used to tutor in college. The same one who made her feel too much with too little to show for it.

Now he's stepping in as a temporary bassist for Manic at Midnight, one of the biggest bands in the country--and suddenly, Hendrix is back in her orbit.

When the band needs a touring doctor, Hendrix is the one who calls her.

One road trip. One keep it casual.

But between hotel room proximity, unresolved history, and late-night confessions, their no-strings setup starts to look dangerously like something real.

And when Zara begins to notice symptoms that could threaten Hendrix's health and future onstage, she's faced with an impossible choice--protect his secret, or risk losing the one person she never stopped wanting.

My thoughts:

Fire is the first book in the Creed Legacy series.  I believe it is an off shoot of another one of this author's series.  But it worked well as a stand alone book.  This one is  Zara and Hendrix's story.  I really enjoyed this romance.  I thought the couple was adorable.  I loved their history as well ad their chemistry together.  It just made this romance that much sweeter.  Both of them had great families that I hope we see more of in the later books.  I also really loved how Hendrix's condition was handled and his reaction to it. It was just raw and real.  How do you handle a complete pivot in your life when all you have ever wanted was to make music?  I highly recommend this one.  I read it in one sitting and I know you will not be able to put it down as well.
