The Wife Between Us by Greer Hendricks & Sarah Pekkanen

Author: Greer Hendricks & Sarah Pekkanen
Publisher: St. Martin Press
Date of publication: January 2018

When you read this book, you will make many assumptions.
You will assume you are reading about a jealous wife and her obsession with her replacement.
You will assume you are reading about a woman about to enter a new marriage with the man she loves.
You will assume the first wife was a disaster and that the husband was well rid of her.
You will assume you know the motives, the history, the anatomy of the relationships.
Assume nothing.

In The Wife Between Us, Vanessa is recently divorced and lives with her aunt.  She used to have it all...money, a big house and a husband.  Now she is trying to pick up the pieces of her life.  Struggling with depression, she can barely hold down her job.  She is also obsessed with her ex-husband's fiancee.

It's going to be hard to write about The Wife Between Us without giving anything away.  When the synopsis says assume nothing, believe it. Honestly, it is better if you go into this book knowing almost nothing about it.  I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed this intriguing psychological thriller.  It had quite a few twists and I called none of them.  It's always satisfying when that happens. I spent most of the book wondering if the main character was a reliable narrator.    The authors did a great job at keeping me guessing throughout right to the very last  page.  I highly recommend this one!  These authors made a great team.
