New York Times bestselling author Jay Crownover brings heat and heart to Liliana Hart’s MacKenzie family with AVENGED…

Girl meets boy…

On the worst night of her life when she’s decided to take a drastic step that there is no going back from.

Girl is used to sitting by, letting fate deal cruel hand after cruel hand to good people with soft hearts and she’s had enough.

Girl thinks it’s time to fight back against fate and against men who aren’t careful with all the precious things a woman in love has to give him.

Fate shows girl who’s boss and turns her world and plans upside down without breaking a sweat.

Avenged is a short novella that brings together a couple of characters from The Point and The Saints of Denver series. This also takes place in the town of Surrender that features in the Mackenzie world from author Liliana Hart.  It's a lot of connections and I'm not sure it works that well as a stand alone. I haven't read any of the series from Ms. Hart, but that really didn't make a difference in this book. But I did feel as if a new reader might be a bit lost as to who Echo and Benny are in relation to Ms. Crownover's series.

I have read everything by this author, so it was a treat for me to see Echo and Benny get a story.  It's quick and  insta-love.  Both of them have major pasts and I could see how that drew them together.  But in the end, I really wanted more.  I really think that these two deserved a longer story. But, in the end I did enjoy it.  They were hot together and maybe that will pop up in later books, so we can see how they are doing.
