My thoughts:

Twist of Fate is set in the Heartbreaker Bay world as well as being a part of the 1001 Dark Nights series.  It's Diego and Daisy's story.  But it is also, in a sense, Diego and Rocco's (Diego's brother) story.  It's about second chances, healing old hurts, and moving forward to a new future.  I really liked this short novella.  I only wish it was longer.  I wanted more of these characters.  If you are looking for a quick cute yet sexy second chance romance, I highly recommend this one.

Wrapped Up in You is the 8th book in the Heartbreaker Bay series.  This one is Ivy and Kel's story.  It can definitely be read as a stand alone book.  a few of the characters from earlier books show up here, but it isn't essential to have read their stories first.  I thought this was a fairly solid addition to the series.

What really made the book for me was Kel.  He was such a nice guy and I loved how he kept being there for Ivy, even thought they both had trust issues.  I really sympathized with him and his issues with his mother.  I could totally understand why he felt the way he did and how he was reluctant to forgive.   Ivy I had to warm up to before I liked her.  I think it's because I felt like her "struggle" storyline was too close to Sadie's.  I didn't find much unique about her other than her loser brother.  Having said that, I did like the chemistry between the two of them.  I did find myself rooting for them as a couple.  I also appreciated the epilogue in the end.   

I'm not sure if this is the end to the series, or if it will continue on.  It is one I highly recommend though.  The series is full of great characters and lots of humor and sexy times.

Playing for Keeps is the 7th book in the Heart Breaker Bay series.  I have loved this series from the beginning.  This one is Sadie and Caleb's story.  These two have had a love hate relationship for a while until a small three legged dog makes them finally stop and really look at each other.

While not my favorite of the series,. I still loved it. Caleb and Sadie have great chemistry.  I loved watching Caleb chip away at all of Sadie's walls.  And boy did she have a lot of them!  That was one thing I didn't like about this one.  Sadie was a little hard to like.  I get wanting to do everything for yourself, but man it gets exhausting watching someone constantly push a person away.  Caleb was sweet and is now on my book boyfriend list.  It's always fun to read about an alpha male who has his heart melted by a cute rescue dog named Lollipop.  Their ending was sweet.  I was happy that Sadie finally gave into her heart.

This is a great addition to the series.  I can't wait to see what is next for this series.

Hot Winter Nights is the sixth book in the Heartbreaker Bay series.  This is Lucas and Molly's story.  You all know I am a huge fan of this series and its characters. I've probably said it before in other reviews that I always feel like I'm meeting up with a good group of friends when I start reading the latest book.  It's hard to pick a favorite couple, but I would definitely say that Molly and Lucas are very high on my list.

I loved these two together.  They both had huge walls over thier hearts.  Both had good reason because of their pasts. It was fun watching those barriers come down.  The best part about their relationship was their banter.  I found myself laughing a lot in this book. I also loved the relationship that Molly as well as Lucas had with their families.  Lucas's family was really endearing.  It was also nice to meet up with Molly's dad again.  

 The mystery was fun with the addition of Molly's elderly neighbors involved.  I just about fell out of my chair laughing after finding out why Molly's electricity was out.  You'll have to read the book to find out for yourself.  This works well as a stand alone,.  I highly recommend it as well as the series as a whole.  I really want Caleb and Sadie's story!! Playing for Keeps comes out in January!

About that Kiss is the fifth book in the Heartbreaker Bay series. It made my most anticipated reads of 2018 list.  Usually about this time, I find my interest fading in a series because I feel like the stories start to blend together and there is nothing new.  Not so with this series.  I have to say that this is probably my second favorite of the series so far. Accidentally on Purpose still holds the number one slot.  That being said, I adored this book.  This is Joe and Kylie's story.  Someone has stolen a memento from her childhood (a carved penguin from her grandfather) and is holding it hostage.  She runs to Joe to get it back.  

It was just such a fun read.  The banter between Joe and Kylie was so funny and comfortable.  Nothing felt forced or cliche.  The romance was steamy and just fun.  I was rooting for them the whole time.There were so many laugh out loud moments that it was hard to pick a favorite.  I loved Kylie's "disguises".  The other characters from the previous books make appearances here and add to the fun of the story.  They are all among my favorite "fiction friend groups" and I would love to have friends like that in real life.  

Does Kylie manage to get the guy and the penguin?  You''ll have to read to find out.  The next book in the series doesn't come out until this fall.  I can't wait!  This is a great series and one you don't want to miss.

Holiday Wishes is the second holiday novella in the Heartbreaker Bay series.  This is Sean's story.  I did like last year's novella a bit more than this one. Probably because I felt like I got to know the characters more in-depth in that short story.  Sean is Finn's younger brother and partner in their pub. He has been tasked with planning the bachelor/bachelorette weekend for Fiin and his fiance.  To make up for a lot of his past, Sean doesn't want to mess things up.  Things get really interesting when he finds out his first love owns and manages the inn.

I did enjoy his one, but I wish it had been a longer story with a better ending.  I never felt like I got to know Lotti all that well.  So, there was a bit of a disconnect with the romance.  Since it's a HFN ending, I felt a little unsatisfied.  The rest of the characters from the previous books are involved in the story, so that was a bonus.,  I would have liked to see more of the ceremony though.  That is my biggest issue with novellas, I always want more.  Still this is a good addition to the series.  Look forward to Kylie and Joe's book next.

Chasing Christmas Eve is the fourth book in the Heartbreaker's Bay series.  I have loved this series from the beginning.  Each book is full of funny characters, deep friendships and sigh worthy romance.  This one is Spencer's story and among my favorites of the series.  

Spence has always intrigued me.  He is the resident genius and millionaire.  He is also a tech geek who doesn't think he can have a long term relationship because of his long work hours.  He has a tendency to get lost in himself. He has dealt with heartbreak in the past and that has prevented him from feeling like her deserves love.   Colbie has fled to San Francisco to find her muse and finish her latest book. I loved how they met.  It was too cute. While their courtship was very short (only a couple of weeks), I loved these two together.  I thought they balanced each other out. Colbie is a fixer and never takes time for herself.  I was applauding her when she finally told her family off.   

I highly recommend this one as well as the series. Each one can be read as a stand alone. It looks like the next story up is Joe and Kylie's.  I can't wait to read it!

One of the things that I love about a series is finally getting to the couple I have anticipated the most. I love it even more when the story is so good I devour it in one sitting.  I have wanted to read Elle and Archer's story since they were introduced in the first book, Sweet Little Lies.  In Accidentally on Purpose, the couple finally gets to explore their feelings.

I'm not going to give the plot away.  I'll just say that these two are my favorite couple so far.  I loved their banter.  Loved their passion and their friendship.  Their love story was so much sweeter because they have known each other for a long time. I know their HEA scene was one of the best ones I have ever read.  It was just too cute.  There were also a bunch of laugh out loud moments to enjoy.

This is a really fun series.  I urge you to pick all of them up.  I can't wait for Spence's story coming in the fall.   Want a sneak peek?  Check out the excerpt below.

Elle bent to slip back into her heels.

                Apparently she needed the armor with Archer. Slipping an arm around her waist to give her the support she needed to buckle herself into the FMPs, he waited until she straightened then said, “What the fuck was that?”

                “Me doing my job,” she said in a duh voice.

                “Since when is dirty dancing with a felon your job?”

                She narrowed her fierce eyes. “You told me to get close to him. You told me to ID him and then keep him distracted, whatever it takes.”

                “Okay, no,” he said. “I absolutely did not say whatever it takes.”

                She glared up at him.

                “What?” he asked.

                “Nothing.” Her voice was like ice.

                “Oh boy,” Joe muttered in Archer’s ear. “When a woman says ‘nothing’ in that tone, it most definitely means something and you should be wearing a cup to finish that conversation. Just sayin’.”

                Archer put a finger to his eye before it twitched right out of his head. “I told you to make your exit,” he said to Elle with what he thought was remarkable calm while ignoring Joe, who was a dead man walking anyway. “When I tell you something, Elle, I expect you to listen.”

                He heard a collective sucking in of air through his comms and ignored that too.

                “Wow,” Elle finally said.

                “Okay,” Max piped up. “I have a girlfriend now so I know this one. When Rory says ‘wow’ like that, it’s not a compliment. It means she’s thinking long and hard on how and when I’ll pay for my stupidity.”

                “Agreed,” Joe said. “She’s simply expressing amazement that a man can be such an idiot. Abort mission, boss. I repeat. Abort. Mission.”

                Shit. Archer ripped out his earpiece and then did the same to Elle’s, stuffing both in his pocket.

                She shrugged and walked away, leaving him on the dance floor. Watching her go, an odd feeling cranked over in his chest. Irritation, he decided. Frustration. This woman got to him like no one else.
