He vows revenge for the abuse she was forced to endure and yearns to make the sweet woman with an iron will his, but can he help her fight the demons in her mind left behind by her abusers’ horrid treatment?

**WARNING** Mature content- Contains references to abuse and a previous rape that may be disturbing for some readers.

Rescued by a Highlander is the first book in the Clan Grant series.  Upfront, you should know that this story does deal with some heavy topics.  The main character, Madeline was raped before the events of this book and some details are given  So if that is hard for you to read, then you might want to skip this one.

That being said, I did enjoy this romance.  I thought that the author did a great job of dealing with Madeline's PTSD from the abuse she experienced at the hands of her step brother as well as the man he essentially tried to sell her to.  I loved how Alex was so patient with her and let her take the lead in her working through emotions.  I also loved how she put him in his place when he needed to be taught a few things about relationships.  Alex's family were wonderful characters.  I loved Jenny and her perspective.  Children always know how to tell it like it is without the adult filter.    I highly recommend this romance and will be continuing with the series.
