My thoughts:

Flag on the Play is the next book in the Single Dad's Romance series. This one involves Carson, star quarterback for his NFL team. He finds out he is a dad when his ex-girlfriend drops his newborn daughter on his doorstep and says see you later.  In a bind, friend and co-worker Abby steps in to help out with the adorable baby.

Out of all of the books I have read in this series, Carson wins the prize as the cutest dad.  I loved watching him fall for his little girl instantly and take to being a new father like a fish to water.  I loved how he would do anything for her.  I also enjoyed the slow burn romance between Abby and Carson.  They both have had feelings, but circumstances have prevented them from acting.  They were cute together and I loved the lack of true angst.  This is one I highly recommend.  Oh and I would love a story about Trevor and Reese!

Silence fell over us as we headed out of the locker room and to the tunnel. I was running through a list of things I needed to get from the grocery store when I heard the unmistakable click of a camera.
Normally that sound gave me a bit of a fight or flight reaction. After years of being in the media spotlight, I still wasn’t as used to it as some might assume. It was a necessary evil with my occupation, though, and I did my best to ignore them completely.
Inside the stadium, though, the sound gave me a different type of reaction. When I glanced over, my eyes landed on where a big professional camera was pointed right in our direction. The person behind the camera, however, was what grabbed my attention.
Abby was easily the most beautiful woman I’d ever seen. Her shiny, light-brown hair fell halfway down her back and looked so damn soft. She had eyes that were such a light brown color that they almost appeared gold. She didn’t usually wear makeup and didn’t need to. Her natural beauty was enough.
She was also tiny. She couldn’t have been an inch over five-four with a curvy body that matched her small stature well. She caught eyes of people wherever we were and it irritated me more than it should’ve. Despite her small appearance, Abby had a big personality. She laughed all the time and made friends with everyone she met.
You’d think after working with her for more than two years and knowing her for almost six, I’d be over my infatuation with her, but it never seemed to go away. Not really. I was good at ignoring and pretending, though.
Because I had to. Trevor made it clear to everyone when she started working as the Wildcats official team photographer that his little sister was off-limits.
It sucked.
“Hey, Abs.” I offered her a bright smile, pushing back my attraction to her. “Make sure you pick the best ones of me and the worst ones of this troll to use, okay?”
Trevor let out a bark of laughter and used one hand to shove me back as he approached his little sister. “She would never do me dirty like that, would you, short stuff?”
“You know better than to ask that question,” she replied with a snort as she lowered her camera and ducked away from her brother, who was probably about to give her a noogie of some kind. “I pick only the ugliest of your ugly face.”
“Don’t make me call Mom,” he warned, laughter in his voice. “She won’t take well to you hurting her baby boy’s feelings.”
Abby rolled her eyes. “The sad thing is that you’re right.”
It was weird to see the two of them together and to think that they were related in anyway. Other than the color of their hair, Abby and Trevor looked nothing alike and the contrast between their overall appearance was almost laughable.
Watching them together always made me miss my own little sister. Parker and I were close but while I was in Denver playing football, she was in Sacramento and working for a pro-hockey team. We were close and always had been, so it sucked that we didn’t get to see each other more. The little brat was happy, though, and that was all that mattered.
“Exactly.” Trevor flashed his sister a smug smile before jerking his chin towards her. “What are these pictures for?”
She shrugged and glanced down at the camera she was holding. “Everyone wants to see what the Wildcats are doing to prepare for the season, so I’m snapping a little bit of everything.”
“Are you ready for another season?” I asked as I adjusted the duffel bag on my shoulder.
Abby nodded and a bright smile crossed her face, making her even more beautiful.
“I enjoy the traveling, but I get more time to explore than you guys do.” She glanced behind her when we heard others coming down the tunnel. “Let me go snap some photos of these guys. See you both later?”
“See you at home,” Trevor confirmed with a nod and I just smiled at her.
“See you later, Abby.”

Life was good. I had a great job, amazing people surrounding me, season tickets to see my favorite hockey team play, and a cat that I could cuddle. Although it didn’t seem glamorous, I was happy. But when the shy, handsome, and somewhat awkward hockey player slid into my life, I realized that I could be happier. I wanted to be more than just content with life.

I knew I wanted to be a hockey player from the moment I put on my first pair of skates. I played

hard for the Titans, proving that I belonged on the top line. But just when I finally made it, an injury took me out of the game. While feeling sorry for myself and waiting to heal, I met the bubbly, beautiful, and smart pediatrician who brought me to my knees. She made me see that there was more to life than scoring goals. A love of the game helps bring these two together and onto a path towards a different kind of love.

 Cheyenne and Kamden’s road isn’t as smooth as ice, though. What happens when Kam’s recovery isn’t easy and his position on the team is threatened? Cheyenne has to figure out how to break down his defense and Kam has to realize that he might not always be the one to score the game-winning goal.

 After all, 425 Madison is the perfect place to fall in love!

  My thoughts:

Game Winning Goal was the perfect way to close out the third "season" of 425 Madison Avenue series.  This story was super cute with a sigh worthy couple. I really enjoyed Kam and Cheyenne's story.  It was an easy fall into love for both of them. Cheyenne was a doctor and was fairly down to earth.  Every time she mentioned her sweets addiction, I could completely sympathize.   Kam has definitely made it onto my book boyfriend list.  I appreciated that he didn't have a huge ego and had a mind for math.  Who doesn't love a guy with a brilliant mind?  I appreciated the absence of angst in the story as well.  It's a quick read and one I highly recommend.

An older man was telling us all about how he’d once considered buying a hockey team, and I was doing my best to feign interest. I let my gaze wonder, so I could people watch, though, and I did a double-take when I caught sight of a woman speaking with a small group of people.

She was wearing a dark purple dress that fell to the floor and long sleeves that went to her wrists. The fabric dipped low on her chest, teasing at the cleavage underneath. The dress was tight at the waist, though, and showed off every curve she had. Her blonde hair had big curls in it, and the tips looked like they reached her shoulders. She appeared to be about three or four inches shorter than me, but I was willing to be everything I had that she had on some killer heels under that dress.

It wasn’t just the way she looked that caught me, though. It was the way she held herself. She was smiling as she spoke, and it was obvious that she had every man around her eating out of her hand. They laughed at whatever she was saying, and she appeared to be enjoying herself.

She was captivating.

“What do you think, Mr. Matlock? Do we have a chance at a repeat of the cup?”

I reluctantly peeled my eyes away from the woman to focus on the man in front of me. With a fake smile on my face, I shrugged.

“I think there’s always a chance. We have plenty of time to turn it around.”

When I glanced back at the woman, I saw that she had removed herself from the group she was with and was heading toward the silent auction table.

“Excuse me for a moment, will you?” I didn’t wait for anyone to reply before walking away.

The woman was looking at one of the lots that included a hot air balloon ride when I walked up. I cleared my throat and fought against shoving my hands into my pockets– a nervous habit of mine.

“A hot air balloon ride, huh?” I wanted to cringe at the lame words leaving my mouth, but I couldn’t stop them. “I’d probably faint before I left the ground.”

The woman looked up at me with a polite but disinterested smile on her face that told me she thought my line was cheesy, too. “Afraid of heights?

When her emerald green eyes met mine, recognition and realization dawned on me.

It was the woman from the game.

“Cheyenne.”

Two For Holding is the 4th book in the 425 Madison Avenue series.  This one involves Porter, a pro-hockey player who lives in the building and falls for a sweet little fan and his mom.  I am not a real big fan of hockey, so I was skeptical going into this book.  I am so glad to say I was pleasantly surprised.  Porter was so damn adorable and his and Savannah's chemistry was hot.  I loved their relationship and how it included Noah.  With all of the press constantly on Porter's trail, it proved to be  hard for Savannah to deal with.  I was really rooting for them.  So far, this one is my favorite out of the three in the series I have read.  I highly recommend any of the ones that are out so far.

Hamilton was spelled out across the back, right above his number. A grey C was on the front, right above the left breast, and I knew right away it would fit me. Also in the bag was a matching jersey, although quite a bit smaller, and I felt my heart pounding in my chest.

Porter Hamilton was surprising me at every turn.

Moving to my feet, I tugged off the sweatshirt I had on and pulled the jersey over my head. A slight thrill went up my spine at the thought of wearing his name on my back. I turned to look at my friends and held my arms out.

“How does it look?”

Holly gave me a thumb’s up while John nodded his head in approval.

“You’re a real hockey girlfriend now.”

I rolled my eyes and took my seat when our food and drinks showed up. I’d just finished off a hotdog when a slew of skaters hit the ice for warm-ups. The crowd cheered like crazy and people pushed towards the glass, trying to get the attention of their favorite players.

My eyes found number twenty-two almost immediately. He wasn’t wearing a helmet and his eyes were laser focused on the ice as he took several laps around the net. I watched his tall, powerful frame as he skated with purpose.

That man was sexy as hell.

Porter finally looked up from the ice and glanced over to where we were. A smile hit his face instantly and he skated until he was standing at the glass in front of us, tapping on it with his stick. He pulled a glove off one hand and crooked a finger at me.

I cleared my throat and stood from my seat. He flicked his fingers again, indicating I should turn, so I did, allowing him to see his name and number on my back. When I faced him again, a look a pride had overtaken his features.

He said something but it was so loud that I couldn’t hear what it was. I shook my head and gestured to my ear, causing his grin to widen. He pointed to me and said it again, slower that time, making it easy for me to read his lips.

“You’re so beautiful.”

My cheeks immediately blazed and I fought to keep from averting my eyes. “Thank you.”

Porter just grinned again and glanced behind me to where John was standing with a look of boyish excitement on his face. The hockey player jerked his chin at him in greeting before giving me another grin. He held his hand up in a wave, shoved the glove back on, and turned to skate back to his team.

“Wow.” Holly looked at me with wide eyes as I sat back down. “That boy has it bad.”

He wasn’t the only one.
