Love. Lies. Magick. Betrayal.
Alexis Allcroft is used to being different, but nothing could have prepared her for the buried secrets about to be revealed. With her seventeenth birthday approaching the only thing on Alexis Allcroft's mind other than her birthday party is Sebastian Valto, the hot new guy in school.
Things suddenly take a strange twist, and in an effort to take the spotlight off herself, a spell backfires and her secrets are revealed as well; secrets she didn't know existed. With her world quickly spinning out of control, Alexis realizes no one is what they appear to be, not even herself! Alexis will soon learn that family secrets run deep, blood deep....
My thoughts:
I liked the idea behind this story. A girl who discovers that she is half vampire and half witch. I felt for Alexis as she quickly find out who she can and cannot trust. It looks like this is the first in a series and I think the authors did a good job of setting the stage for the series. In the end, I was left with many questions, most I am hoping will be addressed in the next book. Betrayed is a quick read and entertaining.
Author, Morrigan Michele, kind enough to answer some questions for us:
Kari: What inspired you to become a writer?
Morrigan: I have always loved writing, though when I was young it was
mainly poetry. My sister Misty has really been my inspiration to write.
Kari: Where did you come up with the idea for your book?
Morrigan: My sister, the co-author, suggested that we write a book. We
have always been fascinated by the paranormal, so it's no surprise that we
chose the storyline we did.
Kari: What is your favorite part of the book?
Morrigan:The battle at Cuyahoga Valley
Kari: What exciting projects are waiting in the wings?
Morrigan: We are working on book 2 in the series, and I am writing a
prequel to the series as well.
Kari: Just for fun, if you could be any animal, what would
it be and why?
Morrigan: I think I would be a dragon. I choose that animal (even
though it's fictional) because they are beautiful, powerful, and they breathe
fire for Goddess sake. How awesome is that!?
Thank you!
