In S.E.C.R.E.T there are…
No Judgments. No limits. No shame.
Cassie Robichaud’s life is filled with regret and loneliness after the death of her husband. She waits tables at the rundown Café Rose in New Orleans, and every night she heads home to her solitary one-bedroom apartment. But when she discovers a notebook left behind by a mysterious woman at the café, Cassie’s world is forever changed. The notebook’s stunningly explicit confessions shock and fascinate Cassie, and eventually lead her to S.E.C.R.E.T, an underground society dedicated to helping women realize their wildest, most intimate sexual fantasies. Cassie soon immerses herself in an electrifying journey through a series of ten rapturous fantasies with gorgeous men who awaken and satisfy her like never before. As she is set free from her inhibitions, she discovers a new confidence that transforms her, giving her the courage to live passionately.
When I was asked to read this book for review, I wasn't sure what to expect. With the popularity of erotica lately, I have found it is either hit or miss with these stories. S.E.C.R.E.T is definitely a hit. I thought it was in interesting take on the journey to find oneself. It is well written with very vivid and hot love scenes. I think any fan of erotica will enjoy this book.
Cassie is a 30something widow with a dull job and boring life. She has lost her spark and love for herself. When she enters the world of S.E.C.R.E.T, she finds the power and courage within herself to be the woman she knows she can be. With each fantasy, the Cassie learns something new about herself and in turn earns a charm with that sessions lesson. Strength, Courage, and Bravery are just a few. As she earns each charm, Cassie's personal life takes on a transformation. Her self esteem gets a boost and she becomes more comfortable in her own skin.
Some may be bothered by the premise that in order to complete her journey, she has sex with different men. I thought that aspect of the book was interesting and done in a tasteful way. Each woman within the society is able to live out a specific fantasy in a safe and respectful environment. It is always the woman's choice and she can say no at any time. There is no dominance or coercion. The woman is always in control. The 10 steps also take place over a year.
I was really happy with the way this book ended. I thought that Cassie ultimately made the right choice. I can't wait what is waiting in the S.E.C.R.E.T world when the next book comes out later this year!
