My thoughts: The Secrets She Keeps is the sequel to Her Other Secret. Connor is the brother of Hanson from the first book. He is on the island for a much needed vacation. He is attacked minutes after being in the cabin. Maddie has been quietly living on the island trying to put her life back together. Connor helps her figure out who is sending her warning notes. This was a good follow up to the first book. I liked both characters. While their HEA was a bit quick, they fit well together. The mystery of who is stalking Maddie is honestly not hard to figure out. But, I still enjoyed the journey. This definitely could be read as a stand alone. I ended up listening to the audiobook. I highly recommend that format. I look forward to the next book.  Enjoy this sneak peek:

“How would you know that?”
The women. The staring. All that whispering.
Come on. He had to know . . . right?
“Women lined up to talk with you at the Lodge.”
He frowned at her. “We were at the same Lodge?”
She might call him McHottiePants in her head but some of the
things the women in the Lodge said out loud . . . wow. Married.
Single. None of that seemed to matter. Connor sat in a room and the gazes
zoomed in on him. She noticed. He had to notice.
“So, of all the choices to run after, why pick me?”
His eyes bulged. “Run after?”
“Enough with the self- deprecating crap. Answer the
question.”
He whistled. “If you insist, the answer is I’m not
sure . . .”
